Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced a 17-member squad for the two-match Test series against New Zealand on Friday.
Sri Lanka will be led by Dimuth Karunaratne in the series, which is scheduled to start on March 9.
The series is part of ICC World Test Championship. Sri Lanka is the third team after Australia and India who has a chance to qualify for the final of Test championship.
Now holding 53.33% of the available points, Sri Lanka need to defeat New Zealand 2-0 to advance to the championship game. But they will also require favourable outcomes in other games.
Sri Lanka has struggled in New Zealand historically, winning just twice in 19 previous attempts. However, under head coach Chris Silverwood, the team's performance in Test matches has been excellent.
Lahiru Kumara, Chamika Karunaratne, Kasun Rajitha, Asitha Fernando, Milan Rathnayake, and Vishwa Fernando are a few of Sri Lanka's pace options for the tour.
Sri Lanka will be touring New Zealand for an all-format series, which includes two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is.
The first Test will take place in Christchurch from March 9 to 13. The second Test will take place in Wellington from March 17 to 21.
